Build Initiative

Annotation: BUILD is a national initiative that helps state leaders prepare young children aged birth to five to succeed by helping their families access high quality early learning; family and parenting support; early intervention for children with special needs; and comprehensive health mental health and nutritional services. BUILD assists states in planning and implementing a comprehensive early childhood “system of systems” that crosses policy domains and helps ensure that families get the services they need. It was created in 2002 by the Early Childhood Funders Collaborative (ECFC), a consortium of private foundations.

FosterClub

Annotation: FosterClub is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that supports youth in care by providing information about how foster care works, connecting them to peers and other resources in their community, and providing guidance on self-advocacy within the system and in the foster home. FosterClub also supports foster parents, child welfare professionals, and concerned citizens through connections to mentoring or coaching opportunities. The website provides access to research, stories, and discussion groups on topics such as adoption, sex trafficking, grief, healthy relationships, and transitioning. Information about training and state resources are also included.

National Council on Gender (NCG)

Annotation: The National Council on Gender (NCG) elevates awareness of the importance of transforming gender norms across a wide range of social issues. The council comprises researchers, non-profit organizations, policymakers, and philanthropic institutions. The website provides information on the principles that guide the council's work and membership; the council's mission, goals, values, and priorities; what the council does to promote gender transformative policies and programs; membership organizations, agencies, and individuals; definitions of common gender words and terminology; recommended gender informed programs; recent reports on policies and programs by major agencies; and a training presentation on gender norms.

New Mexico Association for Infant Mental Health

Annotation: The New Mexico Association for Infant Mental Health (NMAIMH) promotes and supports healthy development and nurturing relationships for all infants and young children in New Mexico. NMAIMH provides a forum for interdisciplinary collaboration by advocating for the application of infant mental health principles in services for infants, young children and caregivers. The NMAIMH works to facilitate, support and encourage cooperation, coordination and collaboration among those concerned with promoting the optimal development of infants, toddlers and families.

Partnership for Male Youth

Reach Out

Annotation: Reach Out is an information and support service using evidence based principles and technology to help teens and young adults facing tough times and struggling with mental health issues. All content is written by teens and young adults, for teens and young adults, to meet them where they are, and help them recognize their own strengths and use those strengths to overcome their difficulties and/or seek help if necessary. It is overseen by the Inspire USA Foundation and was modeled on the program Reach Out Australia. Reach Out provides information on mental health issues, shares personal experiences from teens and young adults and how they got through their issues, provides information about how to get help, and presents opportunities for individuals to contribute to the Reach Out community.

Technical Assistance Center on Social Emotional Intervention for Young Children (TACSEI)

Annotation: The Technical Assistance Center on Social Emotional Intervention for Young Children (TACSEI) takes the research that shows which practices improve the social-emotional outcomes for young children with, or at risk for, delays or disabilities and creates products and resources to help decision-makers, caregivers, and service providers apply these best practices in the work they do every day. Resources available on the website include articles, papers, workshops, presentations, videos, and other materials and tools. The site also provides information on individualized interventions, systems and procedures, and the pyramid model for supporting social emotional competence in infants and young children. TACSEI is a five-year grant made possible by the U.S. Department of Education.
