Children's Digital Media Center

Annotation: The Children’s Digital Media Center (CDMC) is a five-university consortium of scholars, researchers, educators, policy-makers, and industry professionals whose goal is to shed light on how entertainment media impact the development of youth and to disseminate that information to policy makers and businesses to create a quality media environment. Funded by the National Science Foundation, CDMC is working to gain a greater understanding of how interactive digital media experiences affect children’s long-term social adjustment, academic achievement, and personal identity. A variety of related publications, including technical reports and presentation papers, can be downloaded from the Web site.

University of Southern California School of Social Work, Center for Innovation and Research on Veterans and Military Families (CIR)

Annotation: The Center for Innovation and Research on Veterans and Military Families endeavors to strengthen the transition of veterans and their families into the community. Through four pillars—research, innovation, education/training and partnerships —CIR informs policymakers, trains providers, builds community networks and capacity, and drives applied research toward improving the lives of community-dwelling veterans and their families, with an emphasis on promising interventions that have broad applicability and scalability. With the help of its many partners and collaborators, CIR works to increase the capacity and competency of behavioral healthcare providers by informing and developing innovative education and training, and conducting research that directly addresses the transitions of military-impacted populations.
