National Association of School Nurses (NASN)

Annotation: The National Association of School Nurses (NASN) is a membership organization for school nurses committed to providing quality health services to children and adolescents. The association provides educational and professional development services to members in order to increase the quality of care they provide. Services to consumers include referrals, publications, and reference information. NASN publishes a catalog, newsletter and journal. The association also hosts online discussion forums and sponsors an annual conference and training seminars.

Society of Pediatric Nurses (SPN)

Annotation: The Society of Pediatric Nurses (SPN) was organized in 1990 to improve the nursing care of children and their families and to develop pediatric nursing as a sub-specialty within the nursing profession. The society establishes standards for nursing care of children, develops policies on pediatric nursing care, develops relationships with other medical associations, supports research related to the health care of children, and works to increase public awareness of pediatric disease and injury prevention. Services to consumers include publications. SPN publishes a newsletter and journal, and sponsors conferences and workshops.
