Society of Pediatric Nurses (SPN)

Annotation: The Society of Pediatric Nurses (SPN) was organized in 1990 to improve the nursing care of children and their families and to develop pediatric nursing as a sub-specialty within the nursing profession. The society establishes standards for nursing care of children, develops policies on pediatric nursing care, develops relationships with other medical associations, supports research related to the health care of children, and works to increase public awareness of pediatric disease and injury prevention. Services to consumers include publications. SPN publishes a newsletter and journal, and sponsors conferences and workshops.
