Child Welfare League of America (CWLA)

Annotation: The Child Welfare League of America (CWLA) brings together public and private nonprofit voluntary child welfare agencies in efforts to advance policies, best practices, and collaborative strategies that result in better outcomes for vulnerable children, youth, and families. The league sets internationally recognized standards for child welfare practice; proposes public policy initiatives; offers consultation, training, and technical assistance for member agencies; and provides reference information, publications, and referrals for consumers. Areas of concern include adolescent pregnancy and parenting, adoption, AIDS, chemical dependency, child abuse and neglect, child care, child poverty, cultural competence, developmental disabilities, foster care, family preservation, homelessness, juvenile justice, kinship care, and residential group care. Publications include the Children's Voice magazine, Child Welfare Journal, Child Welfare Standards of Excellence, and the PRIDE training curriculum, along with hundreds of books.

Foundation Center

Annotation: The Foundation Center is a national service organization providing information on grants, loans, and funding from foundation programs available to nonprofit organizations. The Center has offices in Atlanta, San Francisco, Washington, and Cleveland. Through collections at the five offices and a network of over 200 cooperating libraries throughout the United States, grantseekers have free access to core center publications, plus a wide range of books, periodicals, and research documents relating to foundations and philanthropy. Publications include many guides on available grants, such as Guide to Funding for Children, Youth, and Families and Guide to Funding and Health. The Center also makes information available electronically through FC Search: The Foundation Center's Database on CD-ROM, and custom searching and online services. The Center also hosts various seminars and events. A catalog is available upon request.

National Human Services Assembly

Annotation: The National Human Services Assembly is a coalition of national nonprofit agencies committed to helping individuals, families, and communities thrive. It provides issue coalitions, peer networking, leadership training, and policy collaboration. It participates in collaborative efforts on youth development, strengthening families and other topics.
