Future Smiles

Annotation: Future Smiles is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides oral hygiene and disease prevention services at local schools, Family Enrichment Centers, health fairs, and other community events in southern Nevada. Restorative care is referred out to the community through a network of oral health professionals who collaborate with Future Smiles. Futures Smiles' mobile school-based dental sealant program, operates at three sites. They also participate in community health fairs and oral health presentations, along with school-based brush-at-lunch programs.

Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health, Office of Public Health Investigations and Epidemiology (OPHIE)

Annotation: Nevada's Office of Public Health Investigations and Epidemiology records and analyzes reportable disease information, conducts interviews with infected individuals and their contacts, refers individuals for medical treatment, analyzes data from disease investigations, identifies risk factors, provides education and recommendations on disease prevention, and works in conjunction with appropriate agencies to enforce communicable disease laws.

Nevada State Library and Archives (NSLA)

Annotation: Services to consumers include referrals, publications, and reference information. Some materials are available in Spanish. NSLA also sponsors training seminars, and publishes a newsletter on their website.
