Physical and Developmental Environment of the High-Risk Infant

Annotation: The Physical and Developmental Environment of the High-Risk Infant is a national resource center conducting an organized, systematic study and analysis of infant intensive care practices and environmental factors. The center receives support from the Maternal and Child Health Bureau, National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, and National Institute of Nursing Research. The center seeks to expand the use of environmental factors, care practices, and social interventions that are beneficial and appropriate and to identify those that are detrimental to the infant's physiological stability, recovery, and long-term outcome.
