Annotation: The Minnesota Department of Health's Barr Library provides lending, reference, and interlibrary loan services to Minnesota Department of Health, local tribal, county, or city public health professionals, school health practitioners, and the Minnesota Board of Nursing, the Minnesota Department of Human Services, and the Minnesota Department of Agriculture. Resources include a school nursing toolkit.

Minnesota Department of Health, Child and Teen Checkups Program (C&TC)

Minnesota Department of Health, Oral Health Program

Annotation: The mission of the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) State Oral Health Program is to promote, protect, maintain and improve oral health because it is integral to the health of all Minnesotans. The program supports community water fluoridation, collects data on the status of several population groups in the state, works to develop a statewide, coordinated school-based dental sealant program, and partners to promote dental health in Minnesota’s pregnant women, infants and toddlers.

Minnesota Oral Health Coalition (MOHC)

Annotation: The Minnesota Oral Health Coalition (MOHC)'s mission is to support Minnesota's oral health community through partnerships, resources and outreach. It is funded by a grant from the Delta Dental of Minnesota Foundation.

Minnesota Oral Health Project (MNOHP)

Annotation: The Minnesota Oral Health Project (OHP) was created in 2010 by the University of Minnesota; the Minnesota Department of Health, Oral Health Division; and the National Children's Oral Health Foundation to improve the oral health of infants, children, and adolescents living in one of 43 participating counties. The website provides information about primary care health professionals who provide preventive oral health services, the etiology of dental caries and what caregivers can do to prevent it, applying fluoride varnish as part of well child care, and dentists who provide oral health care services for children ages 1–3 and those who provide services for children enrolled in Medicaid or MNCare. The website also provides tips for caregivers on preventing tooth decay. OHP is a nationwide project.

Minnesota Sudden Infant Death Center

Annotation: The Minnesota Sudden Infant Death Center at Children's Hospital is a statewide program that provides information, counseling, and support to anyone experiencing a sudden and unexpected infant death from any cause. In addition it is Minnesota's resource for information on sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and SIDS risk reduction, and conducts training and educational programs for health care providers, child care workers, and other professional and community groups. The center tracks infant mortality trends in Minnesota and participates in local, state, and national initiatives to reduce the risk of sudden, unexpected infant death. The center is a partnership between Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota and the Minnesota Department of Health.

Region 4 Midwest Genetics Collaborative

Annotation: The Region 4 Midwest Genetics Collaborative is one of seven groups using a regional approach to improve access to services, quality care, and genetics expertise in a medical home environment that is culturally sensitive. The region 4 collaborative comprises public health agencies, geneticist and other subspecialists, primary care providers, newborn screening and genetic testing laboratories, and families of children with genetic conditions from seven states (Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin). The website provides news and resources including information about partners, forums, workgroups, education, and regional meetings. The project is administered by the Michigan Public Health Institute and supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration Maternal and Child Health Bureau.
