American Health Care Association (AHCA)

Annotation: The American Health Care Association (AHCA) advocates for quality in long-term health care for elderly and disabled individuals. AHCA represents the long term care community to government, business leaders, and the general public, and works to effect change in the long term care field, providing information, education, and administrative tools designed to enhance quality on many levels. Web resources include consumer materials.

Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA)

Annotation: Founded in 1980, the Brain Injury Association of America seeks to create a better future through brain injury prevention, research, education and advocacy. Services to consumers include inquiry responses, information packets, and referrals to local resources. Publications include The National Directory of Brain Injury Rehabilitation Services, various brochures, including the eight-part "Road to Rehabilitation" series. Some materials are available in Spanish. The association also sponsors workshops, conferences, training seminars, and Brain Surgery Awareness Month in March.

Case Management Institute of Connecticut Community Care (CMI)

Annotation: Since 1984, the Case Management Institute of Connecticut Community Care has been offering the tools necessary to bring together structured training and practical experience in long-term care management of the elderly and disabled, including a strong focus on case management. The institute offers seminars, training, evaluation, and consultation to individuals and organizations involved in all aspects of case management. The Institute also publishes a catalog.
