California Adolescent Heath Collaborative (CAHC)

Annotation: The California Adolescent Heath Collaborative (CAHC) is a public-private statewide coalition with the goal of increasing understanding and support for adolescent health and wellness in California. The CAHC brings together groups to share information around issues related to adolescent health topics such as mental health, use of health services, and budget issues. The collaborative also sponsors regional trainings; partners with the National Adolescent Health Information Center at the University of California San Francisco to prepare report cards and data guides to improve access to data on adolescent health; produces publications; and maintains a website that serves as a gateway to resources on adolescent health in California.

National Center for Children Exposed to Violence (NCCEV)

Annotation: The National Center for Children Exposed to Violence (NCCEV), founded in 1999, works to increase public and professional awareness of the effects of violence on children and to build the capacity of individuals and communities to reduce the impact of violence. NCCEV offers a Web based resource center which provides access to an on-line library, statistics, publications, and presentations. Training, technical assistance, and consultation are also provided to community programs such as Safe Start, a federally funded initiative which addresses the needs of children ages 0-6 who have been exposed to violence and the Child Development-Community Policing Program (CD-CP), a community collaboration involving law enforcement and mental health agencies.

National Network of Public Health Institutes (NNPHI)

Annotation: The National Network of Public Health Institutes (NNPHI) is a membership organization formed in 2001 to recognize and enhance the work being done in public health by independent, nonprofit collaborative entities. NNPHI helps leverage resources of member institutes so they may learn from each other and enjoy the potential for joint ventures. Membership benefits include an educational conference, educational teleconferences, an electronic newsletter, access to NNPHI online tools (database, calendar), listing in NNPHI reports, and networking opportunities.

United States Public Health Service, Oral Health Coordinating Committee (OHCC)

Annotation: The United States Public Health Service (USPHS) ’s Oral Health Coordinating Committee (OHCC), with representatives from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and other federal agencies, directs and coordinates a broad range of oral health policy, research, and programs within the USPHS, across federal agencies, and between the public and private sectors. The website provides contact information for OHCC members, publications, and links to related resources.
