National Association for Continence (NAFC)

Annotation: The National Association for Continence (NAFC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with incontinence. NAFC provides education, referrals, advocacy, and support to the public and to the health profession about the causes, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and management alternatives for incontinence. NAFC produces a quarterly newsletter, resource guide, audiovisuals, books and educational leaflets. Some materials are available in Spanish.

Pull-Thru Network (PTN)

Annotation: Pull-thru Network, Inc., is a not-for-profit organization formed by, and for, the families of children born with an anorectal, colorectal, or urogenital disorder and any of the associated diagnoses. These diagnoses include, but are not limited to, Imperforate Anus, Cloacal Exstrophy, Anal Stenosis, Bladder Exstrophy, Cloaca, VACTERL/VATER Association, or Hirschsprung's Disease. The members of PTN come from all across the US and from around the world, and represent a wide variety of initial diagnoses and related disorders. Member services include a quarterly newsletter; exclusive website services; email discussion group; member networking database; family assistance program; regional meetings, seminars and family picnics; member chats; and a lending library.

Simon Foundation for Continence

Annotation: The Simon Foundation for Continence is a non-profit educational group that serves as an information resource on incontinence. Through lectures and presentations the Foundation attempts to educate the public on the prevalence of the problem and the physical and psychosocial ramifications of living with the loss of bladder control. The Foundation works with medical profession and other not-for profit organizations on a wide variety of educational programs, and also monitors legislation that may have an effect on incontinence sufferers. An "I WILL MANAGE" educational support/group is offered for incontinence suffers in local communities nationwide. Publications include books, including Managing Incontinence: Guide to Living with Loss of Bladder Control, videotapes, and a newsletter, The Informer. A free information packet is available.
