Center for Latino Adolescent and Family Health (CLAFH)

Annotation: The Center for Latino Adolescent and Family Health (CLAFH) is a research center that investigates the role of the Latino family in shaping the development and well-being of Latino adolescents. Specifically, CLAFH seeks to: (1) foster the development, evaluation, and dissemination of evidence-based family interventions designed to prevent and/or reduce problem behaviors among Latino adolescents; (2) develop, evaluate, and disseminate family interventions for positive youth development approaches to Latino adolescent development and well-being; (3) examine issues of immigration related to the experiences of Latino families; and (4) promote the economic well-being of the Latino community. The Center serves as a link between the scientific community, Latino health and social service providers, and the broader Latino community.

Migration Policy Institute (MPI)

Annotation: The Migration Policy Institute (MPI) is an independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit think tank in Washington, DC dedicated to analysis of the movement of people worldwide. MPI provides analysis, development, and evaluation of migration and refugee policies at the local, national, and international levels. It aims to meet the rising demand for pragmatic and thoughtful responses to the challenges and opportunities that large-scale migration, whether voluntary or forced, presents to communities and institutions in an increasingly integrated world. It also houses the National Center on Immigrant integration Policy.

Russell Sage Foundation (RSF)

Annotation: The Russell Sage Foundation is devoted exclusively to research in the social sciences. The Foundation currently pursues three principal areas of study: 1) research on the future of work, including the causes and consequences of the decline in demand for low-skill workers in advanced economies; 2) a program of research on immigration, focusing on the adaptation of the second generation to American society; and 3) a program on cultural contact that focuses on understanding and improving relations between racial and ethnic groups in schools, workplaces, and neighborhood settings. In addition, the Foundation has a Visiting Scholar program which invites 20 scholars per academic year to New York City to pursue research project s which are typically related to the Foundation's current programs. The Foundation publishes, under its own imprint, the books that derive from the work of its grantees and Visiting Scholars as well as catalogs and newsletters several times a year.
