Healthy Child Care America (HCCA)

Annotation: The Healthy Child Care America (HCCA) campaign is a nationally focused initiative jointly sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Child Care Bureau (CCB) and Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB) and was originally implemented from 1995 through 2005. The campaign focused on linking together pediatricians, other health professionals, child care providers, and parents to ensure that all children have access to quality, nurturing child care environments and a medical home. The campaign continues to be funded though the Child Care and Health Partnership grant from the CCB and MCHB. The website contains health and safety fact sheets, a list of child care contacts for the American Academy of Pediatrics, policy materials, and other resources.

National Contact Center (NCC)

Annotation: The National Contact Center (NCC), formerly known as the Federal Information Center, responds to inquiries about federal programs, benefits, and services, and processes requests for consumer publications. NCC maintains a toll-free information line and provides access to information and publications through USA.gov

National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders Information Clearinghouse (NIDCDIC)

Annotation: The National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) conducts and supports biomedical and behavioral research and training on disorders of hearing, balance, smell, taste, voice, speech, and language. The NIDCD Information Clearinghouse disseminates information and resources on human communication processes. The clearinghouse operates an information service, develops and distributes materials, and maintains a computerized database. Publications include a newsletter and a catalog. Some materials are available in Spanish. The Institute also provides referrals.

National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NCMHD)

Annotation: The National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD), a part of the National Institutes of Health, promotes minority health; conducts and supports research, training, and research infrastructure; fosters emerging programs; disseminates information; and reaches out to minority and other health disparity communities. Priorities for the institute are the social determinants of health, patient-centered outcomes research; faith-based approaches to health disparities; and improving the participation of health disparity populations in clinical trials.

National Technical Information Service (NTIS)

Annotation: The National Technical Information Service (NTIS) is a self-sustaining agency under the Department of Commerce. NTIS collects and disseminates scientific, technical, engineering, and business-related information from U.S. and international sources. The collection consists of over 3 million titles. Spanish-language materials are available. NTIS is the source for the National Library of Medicine publications and for the National Center for Health Statistics data and survey results. NTIS is also the source for health information electronically on FedWorld at www.fedworld.gov. Materials are distributed via the National Technical Reports Library.

National Technical Reports Library (NTRL)

Annotation: The National Technical Reports Library provides open and public access to all reports of the National Technical Information Service, which are provided by direct submission to or collected by NTIS from Federal agencies for permanent accessibility to industry, academia, and the public.

Information for vendors, libraries, and the media are included.
