Council on Quality and Leadership

Annotation: The Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL) offers consultation, accreditation, training and certification services to organizations and systems that share the vision of dignity, opportunity and community for all people, focusing on improving the quality of life for people with disabilities, people with mental illness, and older adults. It is an international not-for-profit organization.

National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM)

Annotation: The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (formerly known as the U.S. Office of Alternative Medicine (OAM)) works to facilitate the evaluation of alternative medical treatment modalities for the purpose of determining their effectiveness and to help integrate effective treatments into mainstream medical practice. NCAAM sponsors research and offers technical support for clinical investigations.

National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine Clearinghouse (NCCAMC)

Annotation: The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine Clearinghouse (NCCAMC), previously known as the Office of Alternative Medicine (OAM) Clearinghouse, serves as the information service for NCCAM, which was established in 1978 to stimulate, develop, and support research on complementary and alternative medicine for the benefit of he public. NCCAM is the Federal Government's lead organization in explorating complementary and laternative healing practices in the context of rigorous science through basic and clinical research, training CAM researchers, and providing evidence-based information to consumers and health care professionals. NCCAM's Clearinghouse operates a toll-free telephone service, a fax-on-demand service (providing fact sheets and other information); and an e-mail-inquiry service (write [email protected]). Materials and services are provided at no cost. The Clearinghouse does not provide medical referrals, medical advice, or recommendations for specific CAM therapies.
