Annotation: This report summarizes findings from the Strong Start for Mothers and Newborns Initiative, a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HRSA) program that aims to prevent preterm births and improve outcomes for newborns and pregnant women. The five-year program evaluation describes the populations served, the model programs and interventions implemented, and the maternal and infant outcomes for participants covered by Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) during pregnancy.
