Annotation: [in process] this summary outlines the ways in which the Children's Bureau Nutrition Section has worked with the Agricultural Marketing Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to optimize the use of various food distribution programs for mothers and children. The summary is divided into four sections: (1) a general interpretation of the USDA Food Distribution Programs for professional workers serving children and their families; (2) the donated food program for needy families; 3) the Food Stamp Programs; and 4) the school lunch program. The summary also outlines needs and suggestions for further action. Included is a cover letter from Mary C. Egan, Chief, Nutrition Section, Children's Bureau.
