Annotation: This report offers a summary of the July 2010 summit of government, academia, health services, consumers, research, and advocacy groups to identify opportunities and strategies to advance the status of the health of women and girls beyond 2010. Priorities in nine areas are discussed: eliminate access barrier; deliver prevention; mobilize knowledge for health; teach healthy lifestyle skills; promote wellness; marshal collective action; communicate informed policies; conduct, translate, and apply research; and integrate health systems and services. The strategies dis- cussed include effective preventive solutions for dental caries and periodontal disease in pregnant women. Critical factors for national implementation and perinatal measures and definitions are also addressed.

Annotation: This paper summarizes the results of an August 15, 2006 meeting convened as a means of engaging state, federal, provider, and consumer experts from the child mental health and maternal child health fields in a conversation about how to develop stronger collaborative approaches to improve systems for child and adolescent mental health. The paper examines four primary discussion themes: (1) the commonalities and differences between maternal and child public health and child mental health system approaches; (2) the bridges that span systems, with families playing a key role, along with methods and tools such as training; (3) the significant barriers in developing improved systems; and (4) the key elements needed to improve systems.
