Program components include a guide that outlines a self-evaluation process to help build women's smoking cessation success over a seven-day period, a DVD that provides testimonials from pregnant smokers and demonstrates behavioral skills to quit smoking, comprehensive counseling to help pregnant smokers quit or significantly reduce smoking during pregnancy, and counseling and encouragement to establish a non-smoking home. The website also provides information about a one-day workshop designed to train health professionals to promote, implement, and evaluate SCRIPT® as part of routine prenatal care.

Annotation: This one-hour webinar discusses the National Fetal and Infant Mortality Review (FIMR) Program as well as the Baltimore City FIMR program called B'more for Healthy Babies. Topics include data trends from Baltimore, Maryland, on fetal and infant mortality; efforts undertaken to reduce the number of deaths in the state; studies on program elements to raise awareness of behaviorally modifiable actions in premature or low birthweight deliveries, sleep related infant deaths, and substance use by pregnant women or new parents; creating and maintaining partnerships in communities and neighborhoods, as well as identifying stress and mental health issues in women during preconception, pregnancy, or postpartum periods. The addition of life course theory elements into the FIMR program and outcomes is also discussed.

Annotation: This report describes a 3-year project to reduce the number of children with urgent oral health needs in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; increase participation in school-based oral health programs; and increase the role of primary care health professionals in addressing oral disease in the city. The project placed oral health care coordinators in schools and trained health professionals to perform oral health risk assessments, provide anticipatory guidance, and apply fluoride varnish.
