Annotation: This handout provides information about the oral health status of indigenous people in North Dakota and how they can keep their teeth and mouths healthy. It presents percentages for children in kindergarten, adults, and older adults who are indigenous and who have experienced tooth decay. Tips for promoting oral health include brushing and flossing teeth, avoiding smoking or chewing tobacco, drinking fluoridated water, visiting the dentist regularly, limiting snacking and choosing healthy snacks, and drinking water and avoiding beverages high in sugar.
