Annotation: The project goal was to improve the quality of care for children and adolescents with special health needs (CSHN) available in their own community by providing training in secondary level health care services to physicians, nurses, and other staff of managed care programs (MCPs) and establishing linkages among the child's health care providers and other community service providers. Objectives included developing a comprehensive inservice training program in secondary level management skills; and training 20 health care teams from MCPs representing all regions of the State, including the Warm Springs Indian Reservation. Representatives from minority communities were encouraged to participate. [Funded by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau]
