Annotation: This loose-leaf notebook contains articles and reports on the potential impact of proposed federal legislation on state programs and on social marketing. The materials on the proposed legislation cover issues such as changing the funding mechanism for certain programs to block grants and related policy issues, health care reform, and welfare reform. The materials on social marketing include media relations, coalition building, and developing effective preventive health programs. Each section provides suggestions for further readings and bibliographies. These materials were prepared for a meeting of the MCH Partnership for Information and Communication (PIC) Interorganizational Work Group in May 1995. Annotation: This report consists of the first annual summary of actions taken by the League of Nations to study the state of national nutrition and to improve nutritional standards. Topics include (1) progress of the work of the League in regard to nutrition problems, (2) national nutrition committees, (3) nutrition surveys, (4) surveys and their results in certain countries, (5) special research, (6) action taken with a view to improving nutrition standards, (7) some economic aspects of the nutrition problem, and (8) education and publicity. Three annexes include a list of countries from which replies regarding the progress of nutrition work have been received, a note regarding the composition, procedure, and terms of reference of national nutrition committees, and nutrition reports relating to the British colonial empire.
