Annotation: This lunch box provides parents with information about oral health and healthy eating choices and practices. The lunch box is illustrated with drawings that promote good oral health and good nutrition and contains a “Dental Care in a Carrot” case made to include a toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, and a rinse cup. Annotation: This handout for parents explains why oral health is important and how to help prevent dental caries and other oral health problems. It presents a series of questions about school health services, including oral health services, that can help parents support their child’s school’s efforts to address oral health. Other questions presented cover oral health education, bullying prevention, how teachers reward students (i.e., with food or nonfood items), and whether students have access to free and clean drinking water. Annotation: This online course is designed to educate oral health professionals about child abuse and neglect, domestic violence, bullying, elder abuse, and human trafficking. It provides information on how health professionals can recognize indicators of abuse and neglect, their legal and ethical responsibility in reporting and referring victims, and how to refer victims to the appropriate local or national agencies. Other topics include effects of and risk factors for abuse, child bullying and intimate partner violence; differentiating between signs of abuse and signs of other things, such as injuries incurred from accidents; asking appropriate screening questions; and eliminating reporting barriers.
