Annotation: This paper discusses general policy questions and information from current research about the practice of excluding mildly ill children from child care facilities, and presents comparisons among other countries and states. It also describes models of care for these children, including integrated care at the regular day care site, care at the regular site in a separate program, and off-site care in a freestanding program.
