Annotation: This project sought to improve the health status of women and infants on the Texas-Mexico border by maximizing utilization of health resources and improving coordination of services in both nations, as well as by enhancing binational staff development efforts. Activities included distribution of the Maternal and Child Health Resource Directory; provision of continuing education for nurses, lay midwives, and auxiliary health workers; and implementation of an exchange observation program for nurses from the United States and Mexico.
