Annotation: This report describes an oral health project in the Marshall Islands to increase access to and provide oral health care services for children, including those with special health care needs, and pregnant women. Topics include increasing collaboration between government, oral health care stakeholders, and families in program development and providing comprehensive curriculum training for all levels of providers. Also included are a description of project goals and objectives and activities, an evaluation matrix, a flowchart showing the improvement plan, and a list of presentations and products developed during the project. Tut O. 2007. Children's Oral Health Care Access Program for the Marshall Islands: End-of-project final report. Majuro, Marshall Islands: Ministry of Health, 16 pp.

Annotation: This final report summarizes the Republic of the Marshall Islands' efforts to stabilize state oral health program activity, better integrate oral health into maternal and child health programs, and address women's and children's cross-cutting oral health needs with funding from the State Oral Health Collaborative Systems grant program for the period September 30, 2003, to August 31, 2007. The report contains information on the problem, goals and objectives, methodology, coordination, and evaluation. Additional information is included on the project's experience, regional and national significance, challenges and barriers, and products. Topics include screening, co-pay reduction, and oral health education for pregnant women; toothbrush distribution to pregnant women and infants and young children ages 6 months to 3 years; interdisciplinary education and training for dental assistants and nurses; and development of culturally sensitive messages using community-based focus groups. Annotation: This final report describes the activities of the oral health forum held on October 30 and November 1, 2002, in Majuro, Marshall Islands. The report includes information on challenges to addressing the oral health needs of children enrolled in the Head Start program and efforts to plan and implement a forum of key stakeholders to address these challenges. The action plan, presented in the report, addresses efforts to increase knowledge about early childhood caries among key stakeholders and the community and identifies the Head Start program's responsibilities related to oral health, such as training staff and developing a referral system. Pacific Basin Dental Association. 2002. Working together to improve children's smiles: 2002 Pacific EHS/HS Oral Health Forum—Final report. Koror, PW: Pacific Basin Dental Association, 34 pp.

Annotation: This report describes activities of the Pacific Basin oral health forum held on November 14–15, 2002, in Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia. Participating jurisdictions included Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Republic of Palau, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, American Samoa, and the four federated states of Micronesia. The purpose of the forum was to (1) develop model partnerships between Head Start programs and divisions of oral health for Pacific jurisdictions; (2) share ideas, best practices, and collaborative solutions to oral health problems among young children in these jurisdictions; (3) identify strategies and key roles for stake-holders and other entities for action; and (4) develop strategic action plans specific to each participating jurisdiction in the form of model Early Head Start oral health programs, as well as to strengthen Head Start oral health programs.
