Annotation: This audiotape contains the discussion of the Data Speak session conducted on September 28, 1998, in which participants discussed the development of the Healthy People 2010 objectives. Maternal and infant health objectives were also discussed. Participants were advised on how they would be able to provide input into the draft objectives prior to their final release. DataSpeak is a series of audioconferences via telephone conference call or live on the Internet that feature special topics related to Maternal and Child Health (MCH) data, including children with special health care needs (CSHCN). Annotation: This audiotape contains the discussion of the Data Speak session conducted on October 20, 1998; it highlights the work of the Family Health Outcomes Project at the University of California, San Francisco which has developed tools to assist state and local health jurisdictions in monitoring the impact of rapid health systems changes on the health of vulnerable Maternal and Child Health (MCH) populations. These tools include a set of indicators sensitive to access to primary care services; a set of automated data templates with which to document trends; a monograph on selecting indicators in a multicultural environment; and a set of guidelines for the measurement of indicators where there are small numbers or in small geographic areas were discussed.
